2014 Father's Day at St. Anne's Home
June 14, 2014
Twelve years and counting. Fathers Day at Saint Anne’s has become a wonderful tradition. I am never sure who has the most fun - our riders or our Club members.
This year we altered the route a little to include more of the Presidio. We loaded up and headed downhill past the overlook to the Main Post. We passed the Parade Ground and the Inn at the Presidio, looped back past the Disney Museum and back up the hill to Presidio Terrace, and then back home to St. Anne’s. The day was clear and the views of the Bay, Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate Bridge were spectacular.
We arrived at Saint Anne’s around 2 pm. Bob Farina, Becky, and Mother Teresa were on hand to meet us. Bob and his wife Dee were responsible for starting the St. Anne’s Celebration twelve years ago. Their daughter Becky volunteered again this year to be the official photographer.
No other event warms the heart more than this one. We share some great stories with the residents, many of whom remember the Model A from their childhood. The old car certainly brings back a lot of memories and puts a little twinkle in eyes.
We finished the day with snacks and a special cake celebrating our twelfth year at Saint Anne’s Home. We had a wonderful time with our friends at Saint Anne’s and we will keep the tradition alive by celebrating Fathers Day at Saint Anne’s again next year.
